The KLC Association
When you enrol on a KLC Open Learning Course, you become
a part of the college. This is why we refer to our courses
as Open Learning rather than Distance Learning students
are not left studying at home in isolation, but are automatically
welcomed into the KLC Association. With this association
comes a unique system of support services, some of which
are outlined below. This level of student support is simply
not available elsewhere.
FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
The KLC Open Learning Helpline
(020 7376 8786) is open from 9.00am 5.30pm on weekdays.
You can also fax through questions on 020 7376 7807 or e-mail
us on openlearning@klc.co.uk usually with a maximum response time of one working day.
ONE TO ONE TUTORIALS
Students can opt to take personal tutorials, which are one hour sessions with one of our tutors on a one-to-one basis, providing professional guidance on a student’s work.
WORKSHOPS
The workshops available are another unique part of undertaking a KLC Open Learning Course. KLC now offers a broad range of short and part-time courses at our studios in Chelsea Harbour, many of which have been specifically put together to support Open Learning Students.
There are days to help you “kick start” your studies, days offering advice on finding work in the industry and other days in specialist areas like technical drawing and computer aided design. The workshops also provide an excellent opportunity to meet with other students.
However, please note that these days are an optional addition to any of the Open Learning courses (carrying an additional cost) and do not form any part of the core training.
REGIONAL GROUPS
We encourage Open Learning Students to support one another
through their course and we can introduce you to other students
in your locality so that you can form your own study group.
SPECIALIST TRAINING
KLC Open Learning Students can undertake additional training
at KLCs Studios on specialist areas such as Computer
Aided Design and Technical Drawing sometimes at a
discounted rate.

DISCOUNTS
ON BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT
As a member of the KLC Association,
you will also be able to take advantage of special discounts
on books and equipment.

held at Chelsea Harbour. There are four special awards presented by key companies in the industry for the top achieving Open Learning students in Interior Design, Interior Decoration, Garden Design and Antiques.
